Palworld Admin Commands
On this page
Every Palworld dedicated server needs an admin: someone to kick the player who keeps raiding bases, teleport a stuck friend, warn everyone before a restart and save the world first. Palworld keeps this simple — one admin password and a short list of chat commands.
This is that list, checked against Palworld 1.0 and Pocketpair's official server documentation, plus how to become admin and what the REST API and RCON are for.
How to become admin
Palworld has no admin list. Anyone who knows the server's admin password can become admin for their session.
- Set the password on the server. In
PalWorldSettings.ini, giveAdminPassworda value — something long that you do not share with players. On HytHost, set it in the Startup tab instead. - Log in from the game. Join the server, press Enter to open the chat and type:
/AdminPassword YourAdminPassword
The commands below now work for you until you leave. Do it again each time you join. Anyone who learns the password has the same powers, so change it if it ever leaks.
No server yet? A HytHost Palworld server lets you set the admin password from the panel — from €8.96/mo.
See Palworld plansThe full list of Palworld admin commands
Type them in chat after logging in as admin. No command was added or removed in 1.0 compared with the versions before it.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/ShowPlayers | Lists connected players with their IDs — copy IDs from here for the other commands |
/KickPlayer <ID> | Kicks a player from the server |
/BanPlayer <ID> | Bans a player |
/UnBanPlayer <ID> | Lifts a ban |
/TeleportToPlayer <ID> | Teleports you to a player |
/TeleportToMe <ID> | Teleports a player to you |
/Broadcast <message> | Sends a message to everyone on the server |
/Save | Saves the world now |
/Shutdown <seconds> <message> | Shuts the server down after a countdown, with a message to players |
/DoExit | Stops the server immediately |
/Info | Shows the server's information |
/ToggleSpectate | Switches you into spectator mode and back |
/DoExit stops the server without waiting. Use /Save first, or /Shutdown 60 Restarting in one minute, which warns players and shuts down cleanly.Finding a player's ID
Kick, ban and teleport take a player ID, not a name. Pocketpair's documentation calls it the SteamID, but the simplest and safest way is to run /ShowPlayers and copy the ID exactly as the server lists it. For Steam players it is based on their Steam ID; players on Xbox, PlayStation and other platforms have IDs from their own platform.
Ban a player while they are online so you can copy the ID, and keep a note of who you banned — /UnBanPlayer needs the same ID.
REST API and RCON
Besides chat commands, a Palworld server can be controlled by tools outside the game:
- REST API — the current, recommended interface. Turn it on with
RESTAPIEnabled=Truein the settings; it accepts the admin password and offers the same actions: player list, announce, kick, ban and unban, save, shutdown, plus server info, settings and metrics. - RCON — the older interface. Pocketpair now marks it as deprecated and says it is scheduled to stop working in an upcoming update, so do not build new tools on it.
Pocketpair is explicit that neither is designed to be exposed directly to the internet: keep them on a private network or behind your own protection, and never reuse the admin password elsewhere.
Admin commands on a HytHost server
- The admin password is a field in the Startup tab of your panel; change it there and restart.
- The Console tab sends commands straight to the server, so you can manage it without joining the game. Type them without the leading slash, for example
ShowPlayersorSave. - Announcements: a
Broadcasttyped in the console can stop at the first space. For a message of several words, send it from the game as admin, or join the words with underscores. - Scheduled restarts in the panel keep a long-running world fresh; pair them with a save.
Setting up a server first? The settings are explained in Palworld dedicated server settings, console players in Palworld crossplay with Xbox and PS5, and plans on Palworld hosting.
Set the admin password in the Startup tab and run commands from the panel console — Palworld hosting from €8.96/mo.

Set AdminPassword in the server settings, join the server, press Enter to open the chat and type /AdminPassword followed by that password. You stay admin until you leave the server, and log in again the same way next time.
Log in as admin, run /ShowPlayers to get the player's ID, then type /BanPlayer with that ID. To lift the ban, use /UnBanPlayer with the same ID, so keep a note of the IDs you ban.
Type /ShowPlayers as admin. It lists everyone online with their IDs; copy the ID exactly as shown and use it with /KickPlayer, /BanPlayer or the teleport commands.
Pocketpair's documentation does not say whether console players can use admin commands in chat. An admin on PC, or anyone with access to the server console, can always run them, and kick, ban and teleport work on console players by their ID from /ShowPlayers.
The REST API. Pocketpair marks RCON as deprecated and says it is scheduled to stop working in an upcoming update. Enable the REST API with RESTAPIEnabled=True, and keep both off the public internet.
